Byadgi is known and famous
for Red Chilli market. Byadgi Education Society’s
Merchants’ Arts and Commerce college, Byadgi was established
in the year 1984 and run by Byadgi Education Society is
one of the premier educational institutions in the district
of Haveri. Its founder Principal was Sri. T.F.Murashillin
who had just then retired serving as a Principal of colleges,
run by the prestigious K.L.E Society at various places.
Under his captainship the college earned Byadgi is known
and famous for Red Chilli market. Byadgi Education Society’s
Merchants’ Arts and Commerce college, Byadgi was established

firm footing. After his retirement, Sri. V.S.Benchalli took
over the charge of Principal in1989, under whose able administration
it has grown into a renowned institution imparting quality
education for the past thirty years empowering the students
from rural and semi urban areas. It is permanently affiliated
to Karnatak University, Dharwad, while getting included
in the list of colleges that had earned the approval 2(f)
of UGC in 1988 and 12 (B)of UGC in 1995 the college is accredited
by the NAAC at the ‘B’ Level. The college offers
UG courses in Arts and Commerce faculties. The college has
strength of about seven hundred students. The college has
dedicated staff and spacious building with adequate facilities
for curricular and co-curricular activities. It has well
stocked library with good many number of journals of various
subjects taught in the college. It has a vast sports ground
also. The college is committed to provide holistic education
to its students.
Our college has a vast campus area consisting of 4.14 acres,
wherein college building, library, sports, Canteen and N.S.S.
offices along with beauty full garden are laid out. Ours
is an eco-friendly campus. Beautiful historical monuments
are installed in the campus garden. Vehicle parking for
students and staff are provided separately. The campus garden,
with Dhyanamandira wherein a bust of Swamy Vivekananda is
installed, surely exhilarates the minds of students. C.C.TV
cameras are installed at important places and corners as
well as classes to keep the students under constant observation.
Pure R.O. Drinking water unit is also installed for the
